all wrapped up.

How incredible are these images?  These spiderweb-like installations are by Austrian-Croation design firm Numen/For Use and involved wrapping between 70-45 km of tape for 4-7 days, depending on their location.

"The idea for the installation originates in a set design concept for a dance performance in which the form evolves from the movement of the dancers between the pillars. The dancers are stretching the tape while they move, so the resulting shape is a (tape) recording of the choreography."

Multiple layers of transparent adhesive tape were stretched between the scaffolding, followed by continuous wrapping resulting in a complex, organic form. Images show an installation at Berlin’s decommissioned Tempelhof Airport as well as several other locations.
This installation will soon travel to Melbourne, Buenos Aires and other cities.

As I am about to start a new job (and I am all about 'rewarding' myself for it), the question arises...  "To purchase, or not to purchase?" (please say 'purchase').

Loving the Alexander Wang Diego bucket bag SICK.

Well here's yet another reason for me to visit the Big Apple. The Gramercy Park Hotel is somewhere I would definitely love to spend a night or two.  Each of the 185 rooms have their own "unique layout, vivid Renaissance colour palette inspired by Raphael and distinctive collection of art and objects."  The art and fit-outs of each room is simply incredible. Visit their blog here.

Oh my gosh I loove this!  The campaign images are plastered to my pin board at work - I love the colourful, surfy laid-back look!  I think I should have been born in California...

I have a handful of extremely talented graphic designer friends and together we want to organize a joint exhibition sometime next year.  Just the 5 of us.  Each exhibiting our own work.  Which would actually be really interesting because we each have such different styles and in design.  So I am rather excited about it. I am sure we will theme this exhibition to create a link between our works, but in the mean time it all leads me wondering... What could I possibly create that would be worth exhibiting?  Although I am more than sure I could never create paper sculptures as incredible as Anna Wilihighfield's, I am feeling quite inspired by her beautiful creations...
