nowness vids.

A couple of videos from Nowness that have taken my fancy this week.

The first one is fun and totally Chanel.  The second offers a taste of Kate Moss behind the scenes (hidden cameras were used to capture her on a shoot without her knowing) and has some really cool animation involved.  And the third... Well you'll just have to watch it.  It's impossible not to smile.

Happy Friday!

typo.

Ok so I may be a little late off the mark, but yesterday I finally explored the super cute Typo for the first time!  I have heard so much about this cute little store but had never visited it for myself.  Firstly, let me say - the cards were soo cute!  And 3 for $10... Umm bargain!  There was a massive selection of typographic-based stationary, canvases, wooden laser cut-outs and sooo much more for such reasonable prices.  I was in stationary heaven.  Here are a couple of sneaky shots I took with my iPhone.  You can check out the catalogue here and find your closest store here.

After the recent devastating floods, the people of Queensland are in need of our support!  So many lives, land and homes, businesses and so much more have been lost and it is up to the rest of us to help restore their communities.

Art 4 Heart is a collaborative Art auction initiated by the amazing Kelly Smith and Beth Emily, which will run from 18th - 27th January.  Working to help raise funds for the Queensland Premiers Flood Relief Appeal, some very talented Aussie artists have kindly donated a wonderful assortment of illustrations, prints, jewellery and much more to auction away.  This is a great opportunity to purchase a beautiful artwork and donate to those in need at the same time.

There will be two auctions held (see the timetable for more details).  If you just want to donate, even the smallest amount helps.

Our thoughts are with you Queensland!

the real sartorialist.

"It's like going out there and letting yourself fall in love a little bit every day...  Letting yourself be seduced a little bit every day..."
-Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist)

You HAVE to watch this.  Such an interesting insight into the man himself behind The Sartorialist.
Enjoy!

the ice queen.

"British photographer Graeme Montgomery’s film The Ice Queen, commissioned exclusively for NOWNESS, distills the frozen beauty of winter. Close-ups on blocks of ice conjure glacial landscapes, interspersed with luxe on-the-slopes and après-ski accessories: sporty Burberry aviators, fiery-lensed Prada sunglasses and a Doctor Zhivago-style fur hat by Harrods. “It was about playing with transformation,” explains Montgomery, whose previous clients include Chanel, Mulberry and Mont Blanc. “It looks as though it’s on a very grand scale, as I was trying to represent a massive, desolate environment with macro detail.”"

Take a squiz at Missoni's latest Spring 2011 video Ad campaign.  Fun and vibrant, the vid is shot by Juergen Teller and features the Missoni family and friends (including Leighton Meester @ 0:49!).

andéol.

What I am I hanging out to buy next pay day?  One of these beautiful silk laser-cut scarves by Andéol by textile designer Emilie Cacace of ThinkPositive prints.  I am a sucker for fluros, neons and vibrant colours and that is precicly what Emilie's latest collection offers!  The colours and prints featured take inspiration from indigenous textiles from Sri Lanka, Indonedia and Inda.  They remind me of summer, traveling and icy-poles.  And do you know what is super cool about Emilie's latest campagne?  She actually traveled to Guatemala to shoot her scarves on the locals.
