3 ingredients. Low fat. Refreshing. These babies are a dream on a hot ass day.  

Orange & Blueberry Pops  

You will need:

1/2 cup milk (any milk will do. i like almond, vanilla soy or low fat but if you want a creamier pop go for cream.) 

1 1/4 cups fresh squeezed orange juice  

1/4 cup blueberries  

Mix ingredients and pour into popsicle molds. Freeze for 5+ hours or until firm. Enjoy!

oreo olallieberry chocolate layer cake.

I love picking a cake every birthday for my mum to try and master on my special day.  Provided I'm still in London next April, I guess I will have to find someone else to make me a cake... Wahh!  BUT when I do find a replacement Masterchef - I know exactly which cake to choose.  Introducing the Oreo Olallieberry Chocolate Layer Cake (recipe here).

Here's what it is...  "A fluffy black chocolate cake layered with cocoa-olallieberry Italian meringue buttercream, studded with oreo cookie chunks, and covered in drippy dark chocolate ganache...  Oh, and gold flecks on top just for a bit of diva power..."

Um.  YUM!

What a busy week!

Whilst I have been getting back into a bit of freelancing work recently, I have also been making the time to revisit my folio before heading overseas.  And that means getting my mojo back.  Which MEANS, becoming inspired...

I have finally gotten my ass back into scouring blogs, magazines, publications, the lot.  And can I just say, The Makers have me absolutely inspired!  Kind of running with the same theme as The Selby, this website showcases beautifully taken photographs of the creative work spaces of cool people that sourouned themselves with beautiful design whilst they work...

Which, my friends, leads me to my next point:  It doesn't matter whether you're a jeweler, a designer, a barista or a baker, it is possible to entwine your career and with design.  You can work in an inspiring space, no matter what you do.  Heck, even if you're restrained to simply pinning up some inspiring images on your pinboard at work!  I think it's so important to remain inspired by design, by travel, by colour, family and friends - whatever it may be, that even if your work doesn't inspire you enough - you can still surround yourself by what inspires you most.  We spend over half our lives at work - so we may as well make it beautiful!

Gosh, I love having friends who cook.  Especially ones who share.  My beautiful friend Jo and I caught up for lunch today and she surprised me by bringing along a little plate of her famous macaroons (chai and choc-chai!).  I really think everyone needs their very own Jojo in their lives.  Yum!  My iPhone camera has not captured how beautiful they were!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Fashion Trade, a collaboration between Country Road and Red Cross.  Such a cool concept; you simply take a bundle of items into any Red Cross store across Australia or New Zealand, make sure there's at least one pre-loved item of Country Road - and you will receive a $10 discount card to spend in any Country Road store on purchases over $50.

Fashion Trade officially launches today and is aimed at reducing textile waste and bringing more quality goods into Red Cross stores (as 97% of items from donation bins are unsellable!).

So, thought I should do the thing by my social conscious and share this with you to help those in need...  Oh, and I also thought the cupcakes were super cute.

sweet re-brand.

Have you checked out Anagram's website lately?  Wow, they produce some brilliant stuff.  In particular, I am quite obsessed with their re-branding and store re-design for Theurel & Thomas.  Theurel & Thomas is the first patisserie in Mexico specialized in French macaroons (yummm!).  I love everything about this design.  It's simple clean, elegant, luxurious but still fun.  And I love how the beautiful colours of the products 'pop' against the white backdrop.  So if you hapen to find yourself in San Pedro, Mexico - make sure you have a taste, I mean, look!

Ok, so I'm about to share with you my newest favorite blog - and it will now be your favourite blog too!  But be warned:  Fuck Yeah, Cookies will make your inner sweet tooth seriously scream out for sugar (I literally salivate just browsing through the deliciousness).

I little while ago I happened to stumble across the work of the wonderful Amy Moss, creater of one of my favourite blogs, Eat Drink Chic. Amy was asked by The Cool Hunter to give McDonalds a total packaging redesign for fashion week "with an aesthetic suitable for a 5 star restaurant".

Photographed by the fabulous Marija Ivovic, the packaging embraces the look and feel of familiar high-end fashion brands such as Burbery, Hermés, Gucci, Paul Smith and Dolce and Gabbana.  How freaking gorgeous is this concept?  Anything that incorporates beautiful, simple design, with food and fashion is pretty alright in my book!  Definitely inspires me to revisit packaging design and come up with a few unique concepts of my own!
